Hello, my name is Andrea Boyd – welcome to my blog. I think of this blog as a catch up with friends I may never meet in person but who share a similar story, or know of others who do.
In person, it would kinda be like talking over coffee at a cafe and sharing life. This is my way of asking ‘can I get you something to drink? Coffee, Tea, Smoothie, Water?’
This blog is about our journey of our children; through two miscarriages and a stillbirth. It’s a continuing journey, and will be for the rest of our lives.
I know what you’re thinking … ‘Tiramisu for Breakfast?’ Let me tell you how that happened! The day after our son Benjamin’s first birthday, I was busy in the morning and got back home at 10.30am. I thought I had better have a late breakfast and looked in the fridge and lo and behold there before me was a dish of tiramisu! You see, we decided that when Benjamin’s birthday came around we weren’t going to grit our teeth through the day and just get through it we wanted to turn his birthday into our Thanksgiving day. I love the American tradition of Thanksgiving although we have never practised it before. So I found myself, having tiramisu for breakfast. And that was very fitting. After miscarriage, stillbirth or losing a child, nothing is ever quite the same again.
We live in Auckland, New Zealand. I’m a Christian, I know that term gets bandied around a bit so to clarify, it means that I know and love God and believe in His word the Bible and for the rest of my days I will live for Him.
This blog is for everyone. Welcome.
And this is our story. The Story of Benjamin
